In His Service
Staying true to your purpose

What’s your purpose? Mine is to perfect living life alongside God.
How is a perfect life defined? So many of us, Christian or not, have lost the ability to discern between what is real and what is not.
I’ve found that it’s really hard to “take up” my cross. I listen to a number of different spiritual teachers and prophets- but what I can’t seem to master is the willingness to suffer at the expense of others.
I’ve heard sermons that say we should not let people mistreat us because Jesus died so that we can have life. I see this but I don’t know if I fully agree. Some of the best people I have met, the most practiced, are those who are mistreated regularly.
I don’t have an answer for this. I, by no means, am telling you to allow people to abuse you. But it’s something for us to consider – if we want to be more like Jesus, we must realize that Jesus didn’t live in a palace, wasn’t part of the establishment, and told the rich to sell all they have and follow him.
May God help us to continue growing in faith, until the day of fruition.
