Vein at Kakaako: 5 Delicious Dishes to Try

Thank you, Dr. Brandon, for the #HBD!

Vein at Kakaako

It has been a minute since I visited Vein at Kakaako. My PCP, Dr. Brandon, and I decided to go to Christafari’s concert at One Love. The church is across the street from SALT Kakaako, so we decided to have dinner at a restaurant there. We decided upon Vein since it is one of my favorites and they have uni pasta!

The theme of Vein at Kakaako is to illustrate the passion of a chef and his team, as well as the heartfelt feelings of hospitality and warmth brought on by the front of the house team members. Together the team is one in the commitment to breathing in positivity and breathing out love.

Vein hopes to inspire change in their customers with their balance of using fresh products from the mountains to the sea. Meant to have a relational feel, Vein is a place you can return to where you will always feel welcomed. Let this experience run through you…. like blood in one’s veins.

With a garage door that opens up to the courtyard at SALT, Vein at Kakaako’s aesthetic is comfortable yet elevated. My favorite dish was the steak crostini, with ribeye, ricotta, and pistachio pistou.

We also had the ahi and with crispy rice and a house salad. As you saw, I had to order the Uni Carbonara with uni butter, pancetta, and handmade spaghetti. We also got an order of the tagliatelle special they had for my birthday month (aka the month of love 🥰). Another of my favorites from Vein is their Washugyu Bone Marrow with Uni Butter.

Thank you, Dr. Brandon, for the #HBD (#HatsukoBirthdayDinner)!
