The True Meaning of Christmas
Christmas is a time of year that is celebrated around the world by Christians and non-Christians alike.
For Christians, Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Messiah and Lord who came to save us from our sins. Jesus was born in a humble stable in Bethlehem, and His birth was announced to shepherds by an angelic host. Christmas is a time for family, friends, and giving generously to those in need. May we all remember the true meaning of Christmas this holiday season!
An Immaculate Conception
The Immaculate Conception is a Christian doctrine that Jesus was conceived through the power of the Holy Spirit, without any help from man. This means Jesus was born free from Original Sin and its consequences, such as death and separation from God.
The Virgin Mary is known as the mother of Jesus, the Messiah sent to save mankind. Mary was a young Jewish woman who lived in Nazareth during the time Jesus was born. She was betrothed to Joseph and was visited by the angel Gabriel who told her she would conceive a son through divine intervention.
Jesus was born in Bethlehem, a small town located in the Judean hills, as prophesied by the Old Testament prophet Micah. Jesus’ birth was celebrated with great joy throughout Israel and the world at large. Jesus was born to Mary, his mother, and Joseph, his father.
Joseph was a righteous man, betrothed to the Virgin Mary. When he found out that she was expecting Jesus, he initially wanted to divorce her quietly so as not to disgrace her. But an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and told him not to be afraid of taking Mary as his wife because Jesus had been conceived by the Holy Spirit.
No Room at the Inn
The census is an important part of Jesus’ life story. In the Gospel of Luke, it was recorded that Jesus was born during a census that took place when Quirinius was governor of Syria. The census required all people to travel to their ancestral cities to be counted, and Joseph and Mary were no exception. While the couple was traveling to Joseph’s home of Bethlehem, Jesus was born.
When Jesus arrived into the world, there was no room for His family or Him at the inn. Thus, He was born in a manger. This is a significant part of Jesus’ story, as it conveys a deeper message about Jesus’ role in our lives. Jesus was sent to us as a humble savior, arriving with no home of His own.

Eternal Life with Jesus
Without Jesus, the world would be a much different place. Life would lack purpose and direction, as Jesus came to provide guidance and salvation through His teachings and divine mission. Jesus is seen as the ultimate source of hope and comfort, providing unconditional love and acceptance to all those who come to Him.
Before Jesus, life was much different. People lived in fear of the unknown and had little understanding of the divine. They looked to their ancestors’ religions and to their gods for guidance and comfort. It was believed that gods controlled the seasons and weather, leading to the creation of many rituals to appease them. The spiritual realm was seen as a striving place where perfection and sacrifice were demanded.
Jesus brought a revolutionary new concept of freedom to the world. Jesus taught that we are free from the endless cycles of sacrifice and punishment prescribed by Old Testament law. Jesus opened up a path of salvation that allowed us to be forgiven of our sins, not through arduous sacrifices, but through faith in Jesus’ death and resurrection. Jesus brought us out from under the law so that we can enjoy eternal life.
