New York City is known for its diverse food scene, but few places can match the buzz and popularity that surrounds All’Antico Vinaio. Originating from Florence, this legendary sandwich shop has been an Italian mainstay since 1991 under the dedicated care of the Mazzanti family.
Upon arriving at All’Antico Vinaio, you’ll immediately notice the line that often stretches out the door. This is a testament to the shop’s widespread popularity and the high-quality sandwiches they serve. Even in a city full of dining options, this spot stands out.
What I Ate
Once you make it to the counter, prepare to be amazed by the sheer size of the sandwiches, the steaming bread, and the fresh ingredients. On my visit, I opted for the LA SUMMER (since it was summer when I was there). The sandwich is assembled right in front of you and includes Prosciutto Toscano, mozzarella, tomato, and basil. The sandwich was so generously filled and large that I could only manage to eat half of the half I split with my friend.
If you find yourself in Midtown Manhattan, a visit to All’Antico Vinaio is a fun stop. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, the experience is well worth the wait in line. And don’t forget to bring your appetite—you’re going to need it.
